Biotech Energy Systems

Biotech Energy Systems was founded by two former Olympic athletes that were searching for innovative methods to recover from the rigours and injuries associated with elite level sport.

The Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field (PEMF) therapy was introduced to Michael Nobbs and Lee Capes, a husband and wife team who competed at international level hockey for a combined total of 14 years. An on-going shoulder injury to Lee which for 2 years had seen a variety of conventional therapies fail to repair the injury was the catalyst for Michael to seek out alternative therapies.

PEMF was initially used for 12 weeks but Lee’s shoulder problem resolved completely after 8 weeks. Perhaps, more interestingly, Lee had been diagnosed with Asthma since childhood, a condition that required regular inhaled steroids. After using PEMF frequently, Lee’s condition completely resolved and she no longer requires steroid medication.

Michael subsequently used PEMF to manage different clients for a range of medical and musculo-skeletal disorders. The success of the PEMF in resolving many of these client’s problems was the catalyst for Michael and Lee to commence the Biotech Energy Systems (BES) business.

BES also became the Western Australian distributor for Athlegen products; an Australian company that manufactures electric and portable treatment tables for medical and beauty industry. In early 2008, BES was granted the WA agency for Wissner Bosserhof; Europe’s leading provider of nursing home and hospital beds.

The growth of BES prompted a re-structuring of the company in July 2008 into two different companies called RQ Energy and Peak Professional Beds and Tables.
